Wardrobe Essentials for your Spring Workwear

I love spring. The days get longer, the sun starts to come out, and we can finally stop mourning winter by putting away our all black everything work outfits.

If you work in the creative industries, it's quite easy to get comfortable and chuck on a T-Shirt, jeans and leather jacket. But no matter where we work, it's important to have those smart staples that will take you from spring through to summer. With workwear I always think it's important to invest in pieces that will take you through more than one season, and in spring this happens to be dresses, jackets and shoes.

The Floral Dress

As the weather gets warmer, getting legs out again is a must. Keeping it professional in this Topshop dress, it's a great staple that you can wear when you're off duty too. It's a good length for work and the frilly, wrap style is something we're seeing a lot of this Spring.

Little White Jacket

A staple we probably all have, but this one is updated for 2017's trends with bell sleeves. Whether you have one or not, a white jacket is a definite yes for the office, your LBJ (little black jacket) just doesn't have the same effect when the sun comes out, it looks too work like. Dress up your casual jeans, or pair it with a floral dress and show people you mean business this spring. A longer jacket is better while the weather is still a bit chilly.

Pastel Accessories

Not surprisingly, I'm going wild for pastel pink. Not only does it match my brand colours at Sassy Digital, but pastels really work at work. When you don't want to wear bright, outlandish colours in the office, a soft hint of pastel pink could be the pop of colour you need to take your outfit into 2017. We're seeing lots of pink tops, trousers and jumpers, but there are still ways to wear it if you prefer to keep your clothes in neutral shades. A touch of pink on investment pieces like your shoes, handbag or sunglasses means you can join in with the trend without having it hanging in your wardrobe.
