1. Plan & Brainstorm

Before you implement anything, it’s important to plan out your content and create your social strategy! Spend some time researching red letter days that relate to your brand E.g. “World Chocolate Day” and post content relating to this. Looking up any national holidays and seasonal events in advance will also help you make your content more relatable to your audience. Once you’ve done that, you can begin brainstorming content ideas. Taking inspiration from other accounts similar to you, searching similar products online and browsing Pinterest are all great ways to get some inspo! But remember - be inspired but don't copy! Your content has to be unique to your brand!

2. Create your content

Once you have your inspiration, it’s time to make it a reality! Make sure you have a good camera or a smartphone with a good quality camera. Experiment with different angles and camera settings - it’s amazing what a simple change of a camera setting can do to a photo! Videos are also a great way to engage your audience and are super easy to make! Think of interesting ideas that will catch people’s attention and use settings such as time-lapse or boomerang to add something a little different to your content. Gifs are also really simple to create and are becoming increasingly popular by the day, video editing softwares of apps like 'Giphy' enable you to create short videos and moving images in minutes! Finally, make sure you edit! Cropping, brightening and adding filters to an image make all the difference and will really make the image pop! ‘VSCO’ is one of our favourite editing apps but we recommend purchasing the upgraded version - you get what you pay for!

3. Implement!

Once you have your content edited and ready to go it’s time to post! Use scheduling softwares to schedule your posts in advance to ensure you stay active and don’t miss a upload! Scheduling will also enable you to set your posts to be published at the specific times you believe your audience will be most active to ensure maximum engagement. Remember that it is crucial your content remains relevant. So, even if you have scheduled a post don’t be afraid to slightly alter the caption so it relates to any current news or interesting stories that are popular at the time and your audience might be interested in. Its also wise to be mindful of the fact that in December people are typically out for dinner or drinks in the evenings so it’s usually a good idea to post of a morning!
