W Hotel Barcelona

On the beach front of Barceloneta stands the decadent sail shaped hotel (often referred to as Hotel Vela – Sail Hotel), designed by architect Ricardo Bofill. But what you might not know is that it stands on 7 hectares of land that was reclaimed from the sea when they built the new harbour. The hotel comprises of 473 rooms, 67 suites, a bar located on the 26th floor with views of the city, a spa and fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, terraces, beaches and restaurants. Wow, that was a mouthful.

Barcelona is an amazing city for many reasons, but one of the biggest advantages is that you get the best of both worlds: the city and the beach. It’s a city with so many different influences which makes it a great place to sight see, and if you don’t fancy that…then there’s always a place to perch your towel and sunbathe. It's also a city that many people travel to for business, which makes having free time so much better!

Whether you're here for business or pleasure, it absolutely has to be on your bucket list to stay at the W Hotel.

From the moment you walk through the door, you know it’s going to be a special stay. The sheer decadence of the W is overwhelming enough to give you those “child let loose in Disneyland” feeling – it’s a true adults playground.

The bedrooms all have panoramic views of the ocean…whichever side you’re on. On one side there is amazing beach views over the bay which means opening the electric curtains with the click of a button in the morning will give you that "pinch me I'm dreaming" feeling.

If you’re looking for a good night’s sleep, you’ve come to the right place – the W has the most comfy beds around. Dare we say you'll sleep better than your own home. Most rooms have a desk in so if you're here on business you can work from the peace and quiet of your own room.

If you prefer the buzz of people while you're working, head down to one of the lounges in the lobby where there's plenty of comfy seating and people to watch.

When you're finished hustling, perch up by and pool and during the day the outdoor pool and bar play soft house music, where you’ll find people from all different walks of life sipping on cocktails. They serve food by the pool, or if you fancy something a little more refined the restaurant on the terrace serves a great variety of food including fresh seafood and Spanish specialities.
