How To Use LinkedIn To Promote Your Business
Linkedin is the world's largest professional network which aims to connect professionals around the globe to make them more productive and successful. Many associate it with finding new positions or enhancing their career but what a lot of people don't know is that Linkedin is a great marketing tool! Building relationships online is one of the most effective ways to market your business and Linkedin will allow you to do this while offering a number of ways you can get your business noticed!
Here are some useful tips to help you promote your business using Linkedin:
1. Create your company profile
Quite an obvious one… But, the first step to promoting your business is setting up your company profile. Be specific on the details of your company, what you offer, what type of relationships you plan to build, insert your logo and a provide a link to your website & any other social profiles. Try and make your profile stand out as much as possible - this is all visitors of your page have to go of so you want them to remember it!
2. Connect with companies you are interested in
Just like your other social profiles, following companies you are interested in and interacting with potential employees is a great way to boost awareness of your company and drive sales! It’s also a useful way to learn about companies you may want to work with etc.
3. Take advantage of Linkedin answers
One of LinkedIn’s features is is LinkedIn Answers which allows users to post business questions and have others answer them. Answering questions in your particular niche is a great way to get your name out there and show you know what you are talking about. Just make sure your answers are correct and well worded to really boost your reputation.
4. Use LinkedIn events to promote any events you might be holding
Planning on holding an event? Just like Facebook, you can create an event and invite as many members as you wish. Be sure to create a clear and concise description of the event and provide a link to somewhere they can gain more information if they wish. Once they click attending it will show up on their profile, expanding the reach and potentially gaining a lot of interest in your event!
5. Engage with Linkedin Polls
Linkedin polls are an inexpensive way of conducting market research for your company. The feature allows you to choose who has access to/receives your poll if you are targeting a specific demographic. This will allow you to gain valuable feedback which will help you to understand the needs of your customers and any strengths and weaknesses of your business. Remember to engage with other people’s polls to show willingness and interest in their company (plus people often repay the favour!).
6. Update your status regularly
Staying active on Linkedin is just as important as your other social profiles. You need to stay active to gain access to the full range of benefits Linkedin offers. It’s also a chance for you to flaunt your skills and knowledge and show of any recent achievements in your business.
7. Advertise!
Linkedin allows you to send out Ads that can directly connect you with professionals in your sector. You can set the ad to specific demographics or geographics to ensure you are reaching your target audience. Whether its advertising a product, an offer or an event, Linkedin adverts are a great way to get the word out there to the people that are most likely to be interested!
